A  community is coming together for one of their own as a Quad City preschooler and her mother were involved in a car accident earlier this week. Now family, friends and even complete strangers are showing their support.

At St.Pius X in Rock Island the mood is somber. They're praying for 4-year-old Maddi Boultinghouse.

"She touches the heart of every individual she's ever met. She's got a beautiful heart and she's just a beautiful little girl," said Maddi's great uncle, Kevin Santry.

Maddi is supposed to attend Jordan Catholic School this year. Maddi and her mother were out shopping for school supplies when a car struck them both on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.  While Maddi's mother's condition is stable, Maddi is still in critical condition. So family and friends are praying for Maddi and showing their support by making get well cards.

"It's amazing, not only here but on Facebook, we have people praying for her coast to coast," said Santry.

At a time when Santry says all they can do is hope for the best, "We still need a lot of prayers and we're hoping for a miracle."

Maddi had to be airlifted to Peoria. Her mother asked to be transported there so she could be with her daughter.
