Police searching for suspect in rural Scott County shooting

Police are on the lookout for a man wanted in connection with the shooting that left a Davenport man in a roadway ditch in rural Scott County.

According to Major Mike Brown with the Scott County Sheriff's Department, 30-year-old Matthew R. King is the suspect in a shooting that took place Monday, July 28, 2014.

Previous reports indicate that at about 5:30 a.m. that day Gabriel Almanza, 43, called 911 saying he had been shot in the legs.

Police found Almanza in a roadside ditch in the 20,000 block of 210th Street in rural Scott County.

According to the wanted poster, King is described as being 5-feet, 9-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds.  He has tattoos on his neck, left and right forearms, his upper right arm, and his chest.

If you see King or come into contact with him you are asked to call the police immediately, Brown said. King is considered armed and dangerous.
