The United Township volleyball team was preparing for their upcoming season with a camp to tune up their skills.
Coaches and players all agree that the camp helps teams grow and increase their skill levels.
“This is basically like the last hoorah before we get into the serious stuff,” said one athlete. “This is our last little [chance to] make sure your skills are up to par and we’ll see what happens.”
At the camp, the high school athletes also have the opportunity to help with youth camps.
Coach Carie Walker said the team benefits from helping because “when you teach you learn from teaching.”
Walker said they bring leadership, not only in athletics but academics as well.
