The 20 year-old woman who police say left her baby in her car, was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
Police say 20 year-old Breyana Harris left her six-month old baby boy in her car at the Dollar General near Coaltown Road in Moline. The incident happened on July 22.
Photos show the windows were left open while the baby was inside. Police say the boy was left in the car for about 45 minutes. Twenty minutes after police arrived, they say Harris walked out of the Dollar General, and police arrested her.
"She is a good mom," family member Marilyn Shorter said July 23, 2014. "Her kids are with her all the time. She doesn't go anywhere without her kids. It was just a mistake, just a mistake."
Harris appeared in court for the first time on July 23. Wednesday's court appearance was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the County Justice Center in downtown Rock Island.
