If you’re a hunter, now’s the time to get your application in for the 2014-2015 archery deer hunting season.
Deputy Chief Jason Foy said applications can be picked-up from the front desk of the Rock Island Police Department, Rock Island Parks and Recreation Office, or online — click here.
To be considered for a permit, applications must be completed and returned to the Police Department by 5 p.m. August 22, 2014. The city’s approval will permit deer hunting at a select number of sites.
An informational meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, August 13 in the City Council Chambers. City staff planned to be there to answer questions and permit applicants.
A required meeting will be scheduled for all approved hunters to attend. That date is to be determined.
