If you’re an early riser, you may want to head to downtown Moline in the early morning on Tuesday.
Dr. Curtis Roseman, a retired geography professor, predicts that at 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, by looking eastbound on the west side of 5th Avenue, the sun will align perfectly between the buildings in downtown Moline.
“It’s called Moline-Henge, which is a take on Stonehenge [and] Manhattan-henge,” said Roseman. “Twice a year in Manhattan, New York, they celebrate Manhattan-Henge when the sun rises or sets exactly down the northeast canyons.”
Roseman said he hopes people will learn a little more about Earth’s geography from the event and take joy in watching a beautiful sunrise.
