Stuff the Bus event loads up on school supplies

School buses made their way around the QC, not to transport kids, but to collect donations for them.

School buses made their way around the QC, not to transport kids, but to collect donations for them.

Saturday, July 26, 2014 was the 4th annual Stuff the Bus event held by the Salvation Army, Johannes Bus Service, and Walmart.

The goal of the event was the load up the bus with school supplies for low-income, homeless, or needy students to use.

“This is important to a lot of the kids and the families who just are struggling to make ends meet and it’s also important to the teachers because now they can be sure that the kids, every child in their classroom, will have the same amount of school supplies and all be able to learn equally,” said Holly Nomura with the Salvation Army.

The Stuff the Bus event was part of the First Day Project, which helps students in the Quad City Area.
