Barbeque connoisseurs competed in an annual competition judged by the area’s top chefs.
Starting on Sunday, July 27, 2014 Hillcrest Event Center hosted its 4th annual Illinois BBQ Fest. Competitors gathered in Orion to prepare for the cook off, showcasing their best BBQ.
Judges would weigh-in on the following categories: beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken.
Trophies were given to the chefs who came in first place in each category.
Organizers said the event is great for those who haven’t competed before and are looking to take their skills to the next level.
