A suspected bank robber was captured after he literally left a money trail.

A suspected bank robber was captured after he literally left a money trail.

According to a report by WHO, Des Moines Police said the Bank of the West was robbed around 3 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014. They said 24-year-old Kon Tong passed the bank teller a note demanding money and then took off on foot.

As he fled, Tong dropped money at several different places, according to the report. Police were able to catch up with him less than one mile north of the bank.

Tong was taken into custody and charged with second degree robbery. He was held in the Polk County Jail.
