Davenport was the gathering place for kids from all over the country who share a special talent- billiards.
The Junior National Pool Championships took place Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Sharky’s Billiards.
In 2013, there was an unofficial tournament with just 60 kids. The tournament has since grown and some players even came into town from Canada for the competition.
“It’s amazing to see what this has grown to,” said Quad Cities American Poolplayers Association League operator Meghan Howell. “My husband and I, we’re big proponents of having this tournament, having some kind of a national event for the American Poolplayers Association for juniors, so it’s amazing to see just how big it his gotten.”
The final rounds of the tournament begin Sunday, July 20 at 10 a.m.
