Arrest made in Carrie Olson case

Police have arrested and charged a man she knew in connection with the death of Carrie Olson of Davenport, Iowa.

Olson, 29, had been missing since late December 2013, and was last seen at a gas station in Rock Island, Illinois.  Her body was found in rural Dakota County, Minnesota on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Timothy J. McVay, 39, was arrested Friday, July 18, 2014 in Silvis, Illinois.  McVay was charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a homicidal death, according to Rock Island Police.

McVay was held in the Rock Island County Jail in lieu of $1.5-million bond.

    Glad they finally have enough evidence to hopefully convict! But that took way too long when everyone in the public even knew he was guilty!

    I’m guessing they wanted to have everything air tight so that he wouldn’t get off on sloppy police work. I was frustrated, too, but I’d rather they take their time and do it right, in the long run. Peace to Carrie and her family/friends.

    Make sure to email John McGhee states attorney to NOT accept a plea deal! He deserves the maximum.
