Two people were seriously injured in a rollover crash in Muscatine County, blocking traffic on Highway 61.

Lt. Mark Koph from the Muscatine County Sheriff’s Department said a deputy came across the accident around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014.  One person had been ejected from a truck and another was still inside.

Police later said the pickup truck was northbound on Highway 61 when the driver, 29-year-old Dustin Davis of Davenport, lost control and the truck rolled several times.  His passenger, 35-year-old Lyonel Schnack of Davenport, was ejected.  Both men suffered serious injuries.

Both men were airlifted to the hospital and helicopters had to land on the roadway to get to them.

Northbound traffic on Highway 61 was closed for about three hours.
