The Rockridge School Board sold the former Reynolds Elementary School building to the only person who bid on the property.

Because of budget cuts, district officials closed the school after the 2012-2013 school year. Reynolds Elementary opened in 1934.

A $15-million bond issue to build a new elementary school in the Rockridge district failed in March 2014.

The board voted at its meeting Monday, July 14, 2014 to approve the sale of the Reynolds Elementary building to the only bidder, Christine Cramm, for $26,100.

As part of the agreement, the district can remove outdoor playground equipment and any items inside the building. The board was considering a separate auction for furnishings and other excess items not needed by other schools in the Rockridge district; and the playground equipment might be donated to a local park.
