A Bettendorf teen needs the Quad Cities' help to see the bright lights of New York City this fall.

Jared Svoboda graduated from Davenport Central High School this fall. The 18-year-old has been accepted into NYU to major in musical theater. Svoboda is one of just 10 boys from across the country that have been accepted into the program for this fall.

To help pay for his tuition, Svoboda is performing all over the Quad City area this summer and calling it his "NYU Tuition Tour."

"I wanna make people feel. Love and all that, that's what makes the world go round, so that's what I want to do.  I want to give people those emotions," said Svoboda.

Tuition at NYU is nearly $68,000 a year, and so far, Svoboda has raised only around $800.
