A two-month long construction project begins in Bettendorf this week.
Starting Monday, July 14, 2014 and continuing into September, Central Avenue from west of Pius Lane to Devils Glen Road will be closed to westbound traffic.
City officials say eastbound traffic will be open on one side of the center line or the other, but traffic intending to go west on Central Avenue will be detoured around the construction zone using Devils Glen Road southward, State Street westward, and 28th Street northward to Central Avenue.
