Two men were arrested in Hampton, in connection with an armed robbery caught on camera at a convenience store in East Moline.

The 7-Eleven at 1027 18th Avenue was robbed at about 1:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014.  Police said one man went into the store and paid for gas; when that man returned to the gas pumps, a passenger got out of his car and allegedly robbed the store.

The arrests came after a Hampton, Illinois police officer saw a car, that matched the description of the car from the robbery, on 3rd Avenue A in Hampton, according to Lt. Darren Gault of the East Moline Police Department.  A search warrant was served at the address where the car was spotted, and two men were arrested Wednesday, July 9.

Willie Johnson, 56, and Kane Langdon, 18, were each charged with felony armed robbery.  Johnson also faced an unrelated charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, Gault said.

Johnson and Langdon were each held in the Rock Island County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
