It takes a lot of work to put on a tournament in the PGA tour, and one volunteer keeps coming back for more.

Along with director Clair Peterson and thousands of volunteers is Bill Anderson who has helped with the tournament for several decades.

Anderson has volunteered his time at 40 of the 44 John Deere Classics. For the 2014 tournament, Anderson is a Marshall, getting to watch some of the world’s best golfers up-close all while giving back to the community.

“I like the fact that you’re outdoors,” Anderson said. “I’m a fan of golf, I like the fact that I’m working for thousands of charitable organizations just in one event.”

Anderson said he and other volunteers were out at Deere Run about a week before the tournament started putting out stakes and ropes and making other preparations.
