The Italian auto brand Alfa Romeo is returning to the United States after jumping ship on America back in the 90’s. One of the company’s first dealerships nationwide will be right here in the Quad Cities.
It’s an Italian invasion coming back to the U.S. The Alfa Romeo has been gone from the U.S. shores for two decades is now roaring back and bringing the new 4C for the ride.
“This is only the beginning for the alpha romeo branding in the united states and approximately in a year in a half there will be other alpha romeo models brought to the united states,” said Dwayne Johnston, general manager at D&D Fiat in Davenport.
Only 87 dealerships across the country will get to sell the vehicle. D&D Fiat is one of them.
“Its a limited production car, limited 3,500 units a year. Approximately 1,500 of those units will come to the united states every year. The first 500 are launch editions so they are identical units except for color, two reds and a pearl white,” said Johnston.
The car is hand built in Italy by Maserati.
“There’s really nothing like it certainly in the Quad Cities because it really is a super car. Its really special because there are going to be so few of them,” said Johnston.
A high demand, high profile car that’s not even sold in New York City can be yours soon just up the road.
Johnston says they hope to have the cars late July early August 2014.
