Two hurt in Sterling home invasion

Police say two people were injured when a small group of people allegedly broke into their home in Sterling, Illinois.

Police say two people were injured when a small group of people allegedly broke into their home in Sterling, Illinois.

Police were called just after midnight Sunday, June 22, 2015 to a home in the 300 block of 7th Avenue.

Witnesses said between five and seven people broke into the home and battered two people inside.

The injured people were both taken by ambulance to an area hospital, where they were treated and later released.

Police said no suspects were in custody.  They did not immediately provide descriptions of any possible suspects.
