Two people escaped when fire engulfed their home in Milan, Illinois.

The fire was roaring around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at a home near 27th Street West and 54th Avenue West.

Neighbors said everyone got out safely.

Firefighters said the age of the home, and therefore its construction, may have contributed to the flames quickly spreading through out the house.

Four fire departments, including firefighters from Blackhawk and Coal Valley Fire Departments, fought the blaze.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
