Sterling man faces several drug-related charges after police conduct controlled drug buy

A Sterling man was arrested after police conducted what they call a controlled drug buy.

A spokesperson from the Sterling Police Department said that 32-year-old Bryan P. Desch was taken into custody for delivering 10-30 grams of cannabis on Friday, June 20, 2014 around 4 p.m. Police said the controlled drug buy held a value of $175.

Police said during the time of the arrest they recovered 30-500 grams of cannabis. Later that day police searched a residence on Deets Road, where they found more cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Sterling Police said that Desch faced several drug-related charges including two counts of possession of cannabis 30-500 grams with the intent to deliver, unlawful delivery of cannabis 10-30 grams, unlawful delivery of cannabis 2.5 – 10 grams, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Desch was taken to the Whiteside County Jail.
