For the second time within a week, a boil order was issued for some residents in Silvis.
The precautionary boil order came into effect Friday, June 20, 2014 at 3:30 p.m., according to a spokesperson from the City of Silvis. It impacts residents south of Avenue of the Cities on both sides of 10th Street to John Deere Parkway (map below).
“This is a precautionary boil order due to a routine water sample that did not meet the EPA standards,” said a spokesperson from the City of Silvis.
Residents impacted by this boil order are advised to boil their water for five minutes before drinking and cooking.
More water samples have been submitted for testing.
An update from Silvis city officials at 8 a.m. Monday, June 23 indicated the boil order remained in effect.
