A letter issued to parents and patrons of Alleman High School appears end debate and confirm the decision to replace dismissed assistant principal Michelle Gau.
Gau was on the faculty of Alleman for 32 years before she was reportedly dismissed from her position June 2, 2014. Hundreds of her students, alumni, parents and colleagues marched in support of Gau. The Diocese of Peoria has not said why Ms. Gau was let go.
An email announcing a new assistant principal was distributed Friday, June 20, 2014 on behalf of Alleman Principal Colin Letendre. Read the letter below.

As we prepare to move forward together, I want you to be informed about the coming transition at Alleman.

Dear Alleman High School Community,
I am writing to you at the direction of Most Reverend Daniel R. Jenky, C.S.C., regarding some important information concerning the administration at Alleman High School for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Effective July 1, 2014, Mr. David Hobin will be the Assistant Principal at Alleman. Mr. Hobin has previously served in the role of administrator at Visitation Catholic School in Kewanee and most recently, at Lourdes Catholic School in Davenport, Iowa. David and his family are parishioners at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island. We are delighted that Mr. Hobin has accepted this important leadership role and welcome him to the Alleman High School faculty and staff!
Mr. Jerry Sanderson, Associate Superintendent, will be assisting Assistant Principal Hobin and me for the next several weeks during this time of transition. Mr. Sanderson has extensive experience and knowledge as an administrator in our diocesan schools and in his role at the Office of Catholic Schools.
We appreciate your prayers for Alleman High School, and we continue to pray for your children as they grow in “wisdom, age, and grace” in our Rock Island Vicariate schools.
