As storms were raging in the QC early Thursday evening, hundreds of Quad Citians were without power.

MidAmerican Energy’s outage map showed that at about 6:20 p.m. more than 2,000 customers were experiencing power outages on the Iowa side of the QC and about 120 were without power on the Illinois side.

The most outages were in LeClaire, where 1,606  customers had no electricity.

By 6:50 p.m. most of the power had been restored to QC customers. Bettendorf had the most remaining outages with 158 impacted.

A spokesperson from MidAmerican Energy said most of the outages were weather related. One outage that affected more than 100 customers in Bettendorf was due to animal contact. Their power was restored at 7:39 p.m.
