Recent heavy rains have prompted Clinton, Iowa officials to install flood gates on 9th Avenue North.

City officials announced the flood gates would be installed at 8 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood watch for Clinton County that was expected to continue through Friday morning.

The warning was upgraded Thursday afternoon, June 19, to a flood warning for the Mississippi River at Camanche.  Minor flooding was forecast, as the river was at 15.7 feet and rising.  Flood stage there is 17 feet, and at that level water affects low-lying homes in Albany.  The river was forecast to rise to 18 feet by Wednesday, June 25.
