The 2014 John Deere Classic kicks off in just 19 days, and on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, business leaders around the Quad Cities started gearing up for it.

Wednesday, the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce held its monthly breakfast at the clubhouse of TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. In less than three weeks, golf fans will be able to see some of the finest players in the world. 2013 champion Jordan Spieth is returning to the Quad Cities. Tournament Director Clair Peterson says his crews now have to get the grandstands up, to get ready for players like Spieth.

"You're building a city, so there's a lot of structural work that needs to be done," Peterson said. "We got started on Memorial Day, so that gives us normally five to six weeks of good weather, and we've had a good ability to keep on schedule, and we're on schedule to open our doors on July 7th."

Spieth will be joined by 2012 champion Zach Johnson and other popular players like Steve Stricker. To buy tickets to the John Deere Classic, click here. Tournament week begins Monday, July 7, 2014.
