One person was airlifted to Iowa City after crews found him unconscious inside a burning van.
The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office said that on Saturday, June 14, 2014 around 3 a.m. police and fire crews were called to the 4th pumping station campground for a report that a van was on fire with a male inside.
“The van was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival,” said a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office.
Crews found that the male inside "was burnt and unconscious," police said. He was airlifted by Med Force to Iowa City.
Police said that the van was completely destroyed. The cause of the fire was unknown.
