Nearly 6,500 people registered for the 25th Anniversary Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 14, 2014. With help from runners, walkers, sponsors, fundraisers, and donations from “Sleep in for the Cure” more than $200,000 was raised.

Individual and team fundraisers brought-in $40,000. Since 1990, when the race first came to the QC, Race for the Cure has raised more than $5.7 million.

There were many post-race festivities such as the pink glove dance, photo booths, a kids zone, and refreshments.

This year was the first “After Party for the Cure” downtown where businesses offered discounts to people wearing their race bib or t-shirt. Participating businesses also made donations to the foundation.
