Two-state car chase ends when stolen vehicle gets stuck in mud

The driver of a stolen car led police on a chase through two states and ended up getting stuck in the mud.

WGEM reported that police in Louisiana, Missouri chased a stolen black 2010 Pontiac G6 across a bridge on Route 54 into Rockport, Illinois. The driver, 23-year-old Matthew R. Tyson continued on Kiser Creek Road, where the car then got stuck in the mud along the Mississippi River levee.

According to the report, police found stolen Missouri license plates inside the Pontiac, which Tyson took from the Kansas City, Kansas area. Both Tyson and a 24-year-old woman passenger were arrested.

Tyson was charged in Pike County, Illinois with possession of a stolen motor vehicle and driving on a suspended license. His passenger was not charged with anything and was released.
