A driver was killed when their car was hit broadside by truck in Knoxville, Illinois.
Police said the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva exited from eastbound Interstate 74 to U.S. Highway 150, stopped at the sign at the end of the ramp and then pulled onto U.S. 150 just after 6:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014. That’s when a 1976 Chevrolet truck, traveling westbound on U.S. 150, collided with the driver’s side of the Captiva.
The driver of the Captiva was killed in the crash. That person’s name was withheld until family could be notified.
Police said the truck driver, a 20-year-old man from Knoxville, was not hurt. He was cited for violation of driver’s license classification.
