A Tennessee bride is the target of heavy criticism after she chose an unconventional way to include her one-month-old baby in the ceremony.

The baby girl was attached to the train of the bride’s dress.

“Our 1 month old was awake and well secured on my train,” Shona Carter-Brooks wrote in a Facebook post, apparently in response to some criticism of the choice to tie the baby to her dress.

One supporter posted on her page “A GOOD mother takes her child wherever she goes, even down the aisle.”

The bride’s sister later said the baby was placed on the train of the dress for a photo and then the baby was picked up; and that the baby was not dragged down the aisle on the train according to our sister station WREG.

To supporters, Carter-Brooks later posted, “We love you all for your support, love, and encouraging words!”
