Fire severely damages Bettendorf home

A two-story home in Bettendorf was severely damaged after it caught fire.

Fire crews were called to the fire on 23rd Street around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014.

A spokesperson from the Bettendorf Fire Department said that heavy smoke was seen coming from the second story. The fire was under control in about ten minutes, but crews were on scene for roughly three hours.

The Bettendorf Fire Department said that about $50,000 in damage was done to the home.

There were no injuries reported and the cause was unknown.
