A Rock Island school is saying good-bye to one of their own, but they're making sure they give him a very special send off.

Jordan Catholic School's principal Mike Daley thought he was walking into a pep assembly, little did he know it was an assembly for him. Students and staff have been preparing for weeks for his gift, a video saying good-bye.

Daley has been principal for six years and now he's retiring. He's responsible for bringing a lot of change, from the schools hot lunch program to adding on to the Junior High.

Students and staff were able to keep the surprise from Daley.

"Generally I'm here all the time so it's amazing how they pulled it off and did it. I had no idea until today," said Daley.
