One man died in a two-vehicle crash in Whiteside County after a driver passed through a stop sign.
According to a spokesperson from Whiteside County, 86-year-old Robert L. Unterzuber and his passenger 84-year-old Marilyn K. Unterzuber, both from Rock Falls, were traveling eastbound on Fargo Road north of Tampico Friday, May 23, 2014 around 10:30 a.m.
Robert reportedly did not stop at the posted stop sign when he came upon the Luther Road intersection and was hit by a delivery vehicle traveling southbound.
A spokesperson from Whiteside County said the coroner pronounced Robert dead on the scene. The delivery truck driver and Marilyn were both taken to the hospital for treatment.
