Day one of the three day co-ed state track meet in Des Moines has yielded several winners.  On the blue track at Drake University, Clinton's DeShond Robinson repeats as the 400-meter champion in 4A. Larkin Chapman from Muscatine won the girls 4A 400, Pleasant Valley's Addie Swanson is second.  Boys 2A 400, Derek Harksen from Camanche won the first ever gold medal in this event for the Indians. Assumption's Rose Ripslinger took second in the girls 2A 400-meters.

Assumption scored more points in the 3000, as Joy Ripslinger finished second. Their 4 x 800 relay team finished second.

In the high jump, Pleasant Valley's Kelli DeGeorge repeated as a state champion. Clinton's Brady Ernst was runner up in the boys high jump.
