Crews were working to fix a sanitary sewer that overflowed in Davenport.
The overflow was spotted along railroad tracks south of the Locust Street railroad overpass between Pacific and Crescent Streets. A spokesperson from the City of Davenport said it happened because of a blockage, but that blockage had not yet been identified.
“Sewer crews are working to assess the situation, clean the line, and make permanent repairs as needed,” said a city spokesperson.
As a temporary solution, the city placed a bypass bump at the overflow’s location and directed the overflow to the nearest manhole.
