Secret yearbook message could keep teen from graduation

A Georgia teenager’s yearbook message has landed her in hot water and could prevent her from participating in her graduation ceremony.

Paris Gray, who is the senior class vice-president at her high school, got an in-school suspension after someone decoded the hidden message in a quote next to her photo in the yearbook according to WSB-TV.

The message reads, “When the going gets tough just remember to Barium, Carbon, Potassium, Thorium, Astatine, Arsenic, Sulfur, Uranium, Phosphorus.” The characters for each of those elements on the periodic table spells out “back that a** up.”

“Basically, it was me just saying start all over again. You have to go back and start all over,” Gray said.

Administrators, however, were not so amused. Gray says they kept her from participating in the senior walk that happened just after the yearbooks were handed out; and that an assistant vice-principal told her she also won’t be allowed to deliver her scheduled speech at the graduation ceremony.

The final decision was not yet announced by school district officials.

What a crock of hooey!! The kids in high school talk worse than anybody I’ve ever heard and nothing is done about it. How cool that she found a way to say something actually using her education! I continue to be very glad I homeschool.

Actually she spelled the last 3 elements wrong, so the message is gibberish as there is no element called Sulfer, Utranium, or Phospheros. #chemfail

She was not the writer or editor of the yesr book, doubt she miss spelled it. Also the school should be happy that they have a student that smart. Also her hidden message is appropriate for kids who will feel overwhelmed and need to step back and reevaluate life and decisions.

Administrators need to loosen up. I bet the their heads exploded when they heard what it meant. They say nastier stuff on prime time t.v.
