Deaths of Iowa mother and son classified as a double homicide

The deaths of a 48-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son in Glidden, Iowa were classified as homicides by the state medical examiner’s office.

The deaths of a 48-year-old woman and her 30-year-old son in Glidden, Iowa were classified as homicides by the state medical examiner’s office.

Police say they found the bodies of Tammie Lee Devore and her son, Karl Allen Devore, when officers were called to a home in Glidden just before 10 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Autopsies on both victims May 20 led to the determination that the manner of their deaths was homicide.

“Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and the public should not be concerned for their safety,” said a statement from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
