Six people are out of their home after a house fire in Moline.

It happened around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 in the 2300 block of South Shore Drive. The home overlooks the Rock River.

Coal Valley, Blackhawk Township, and Colona Fire Fighters responded to the scene. Officials say the fire started in the back of the home, but they have not released a cause of the fire.

The back of the home suffered severe damage. Of the six people inside at the time, one person suffered back injuries while trying to escape. He is expected to be okay. Coal Valley Fire Protection District Chief Dave Dunham says the person taken to the hospital, has since been released.

The Red Cross is assisting the family. Crews say the front of the home may still be livable, but they do not believe the back of the home is salvageable.
