Police continue search for Dairy Queen robbery suspect

Neighbors were shocked about the robbery at the Dairy Queen off 53rd in Moline, especially when it happened during daytime hours.

Police are still searching for the suspect who robbed the Dairy Queen in Moline at gunpoint last weekend.

Detective Scott Williams with the Moline Police Department said shortly before noon on Saturday, May 17, 2014 a person described as a light-skinned black male entered the Dairy Queen at 2120 53rd Street and pointed a gun at the employees.

Williams said the suspect is somewhere between 16 and 20-years-old, stands about 5-foot 8 to 10-inches tall, and is under 150 pounds. He was wearing dark-navy baggy jeans, a dark-grey hooded sweatshirt, a ball hat, and had a backpack on.

Neighbors of the Dairy Queen were shocked that anyone would do this in the middle of the day.

"That could have been my store," said Katie Lance, employee of the Big Ten Mart down the street. "I could have been here and he could have taken hostage of my store."

Police said if you recognize the suspect or have any information on the incident, call Moline Police Department at 309-797-0401 or Crimestoppers at 309-762-9500.
