A driver reportedly crossed over to Davenport after Rock Island Police attempted a traffic stop and ended up striking a utility pole, causing the car to roll multiple times.

According to Sgt. Andrew Harris with the Davenport Police Department, Rock Island Police attempted to pull-over an SUV before 7:40 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014. The SUV sped away crossing over the Centennial Bridge into Davenport, Iowa.

Harris said police received 911 calls of a vehicle that had rolled over in the 600 block of Pershing Avenue in Davenport. The car had rolled several times after it hit a utility pole.

Police said the driver fled the scene but was arrested roughly two blocks away near 6th Street and LeClaire Street. Three occupants of the SUV, including the driver, were taken to the hospital. One "unknown passenger" reportedly "walked away from the accident and was gone before officers arrived."

The vehicle was totaled, leaving debris on the roadway. Police blocked off Pershing Avenue from 6th to 7th Street.
