Police say Moline cocaine dealer busted in undercover sting

Drug enforcement investigators say they busted a Moline man buying a large amount of cocaine from an undercover agent.

Drug enforcement investigators say they busted a Moline man buying a large amount of cocaine from an undercover agent.

Quad City Metropolitan Enforcement Group and the Drug Enforcement Agency arrested 44-year-old Rob Alan Wayne Traub during a sting Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Traub was arrested in the 3900 block of 44th Avenue in Moline "as he attempted to purchase a large amount of powder cocaine from an undercover agent" according to a spokesman for QC MEG.  The spokesman referred to Traub as a "suspected cocaine dealer."

Investigators report finding a "large amount" of firearms in a subsequent search of Traub's home.

"The investigation continues and more arrests are anticipated," the QC MEG spokesman said.

The arrest happened the day after a Moline father and son were arrested for allegedly dealing cocaine out of a local pizza restaurant.  Investigators did not indicate any specific connection between the two busts.

Traub was held in the Rock Island County Jail.
