A week after they revealed the most popular names for babies in the U.S., the Social Security Administration has unveiled the most popular newborn names in each state.

The most popular name for boys born in Illinois in 2013 was Noah, and the most popular name for newborn girls was Olivia. Those names each ranked second on the previous year’s list of most popular baby names in Illinois; Jacob and Sophia ranked highest in Illinois in 2012.

Illinois parents also liked Alexander, Jacob, Liam and Michael as names for baby boys in 2013. After Olivia, Illinois parents were most likely to choose Sophia, Emma, Isabella and Emily as names for girls in 2013.

Liam was the most popular name for boys born in Iowa in 2013. Emma was the most popular name for girls born in Iowa that year. Those names were each also the most popular names for Iowa babies in 2012.

Some of the same names that were popular for Illinois babies were also popular in Iowa, but some selections were different.
