Police involved in standoff after shots fired in Davenport

Police were involved in a standoff in a Davenport neighborhood after a  resident reportedly fired shots.

Davenport Police said shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 officers responded to a report of someone shooting a gun. Police found that the person accused of firing a gun had gone back into his home on South Stark Street.

“Initial attempts at communication were unsuccessful,” said a Davenport police spokesperson.

Police said the Emergency Services Team was sent to the residence and they able to communicate with the alleged shooter. He agreed to come out of his home around 7 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
