Residents of a Rock Island neighborhood joined Augie students to brainstorm how they could improve the area.
As part of a partnership initiative, the KeyStone neighborhood, located between the downtowns of Rock Island and Moline got together with Augustana students and faculty Wednesday, May 14, 2014 to make a list of priorities.
The group aimed at focusing on giving the neighborhood a more vibrant economy, improving livability, and creating a more resilient environment. The looked at other items like water quality and landscaping as well as historical preservation.
According to a spokesperson from Augustana College, students in a sculpture class may make letterboxes, which would explain novel aspects about the community. Other students have been working to make churches in the area more environmentally friendly.
