There will be 300 tickets sold Modern Woodmen Park’s first Ferris wheel ride event.

Crews have been working on the Ferris wheel since October of 2013 and were adding the finishing touches in May 2014. The Inaugural Ferris Wheel Ride has been scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2014 at noon to kick off a Memorial Day Weekend grand opening for the Ferris wheel. The event will also include food, giveaways, music, and a cash bar.

Tickets sold for the event will benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation in the Quad Cities. As the rest of the season goes on, a portion of each ticket sale will go to the Genesis foundation for children’s health and wellness.

A spokesperson from Modern Woodmen Park said tickets will be sold through Genesis Health Services.  Tickets for the event will be available by calling the Genesis Foundation at 563-421-6865. Of those 300 tickets for sale, 100 attendees will be drawn to be part of the Ferris wheel’s very first ride.

Before the Ferris wheel takes that first ride, the official lighting of the attraction will be held on Monday, May 19.

The amusement rides offered at the park will be open to fans at all River Bandits home games as well as weekends even when there are no games. For additional information, ticket pricing, and hours, click here.
