The area's best athletes gathered in Davenport for the annual Quad City Times Salute to Sports. Muscatine's Katie Shoultz edges out a fantastic field on nominees and is named the Female Athlete of the Year. The Muskies 5 sport standout was an All- MAC performer in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and track. Shoultz is also the State's reigning player of the year in softball.
Wilton's Tyler Hetzler was named the Male Athlete of the Year. Hetzler earned all state honors in football, baseketball, and track. He was also all conference in baeball. season.....
