Temperatures climbed well into the 80s on Monday but today we struggle to move through the 50s. What a difference a cold front can make.

Keep the jacket handy the rest of the week. High temperatures are only expected to break into the upper 50s and around 60 degrees through Friday! Clouds and rain will help to keep our numbers 10 to 15 degrees below normal.

Rain is a good thing but we don’t necessarily want it all at once. It was anything but ideal on Monday. We broke a rainfall record that was set in 1970! Our previous record for rain falling in 24 hours was .96 inches. We had 1.09 inches that fell on Monday.

Our next chance for rain arrives as early as late in the day Wednesday with increasing coverage Thursday and Friday. Record rainfall is not expected. Scattered light rain showers should amount to less than a quarter of an inch total for the rest of the week.

The weekend looks more dry with temperatures returning to the 70s by Sunday.
