Part of Moline’s River Drive closed due to flooding

Moline crews shut down River Drive, east of the I-74 bridge to the East Moline border, because the road was under water.

Moline crews shut down River Drive, east of the I-74 bridge on Sunday, May 11, 2014. The street is closed all the way to the East Moline border.

On Monday, May 12, 2014, there was standing water in the 3400 block of River Drive, just north of the Western Illinois University Quad City campus. The river is expected to crest at 16.7 feet later on Monday.

In Davenport, water has reached the grass at Centennial and LeClaire Parks. Davenport Public Works Director Mike Clarke says that water could reach River Drive in Davenport, but crews do not expect to shut down River Drive. South Concord Street is also closed in Davenport near Credit Island.

In Rock Island, crews have shut down 18th Avenue at Potter's Lake and Sunset Marina. Sunset Marina is on the far west end of the city.
