A 71-year-old Davenport, Iowa man will spend three years in prison after he pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography.

Investigators say Charles Linville was caught when he used an online peer-to-peer file sharing program.

When police searched Linville’s home in November 2013, they seized his computer and several digital recording devices, including video-capable underwater face masks he used to make videos of a girl swimming in her bathing suit.

Police previously said they seized more than 2,300 child pornography images Linville had received between September and November 2013.

When he was charged, Linville faced up to 20 years in prison.

Linville was sentenced Monday, May 12, 2014 to 36 months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.

36 months? Good thing it was just child porn and not something serious like marijuana possession. I would hate for them to let someone like that back out on the streets.
